U.S. House Representative Todd Rokita held a “Congress On Your Corner” meeting in Frankfort to a packed standing room only room at the City Council Chambers at Old Stoney Tuesday Evening. The meeting lasted about one hour. Todd Rokita began with an opening statement about his pleasure attending the ribbon cutting for the U.S. 31 bypass around Kokomo, citing that the entire project is ”40% under budget and ahead of schedule”. His opening statement also addressed that in many years of representing Indiana as Secretary of State or U.S. Representative, he has “Never seen worse” referring to the serious damage suffered by Kokomo in the Sunday evening sweep of 28 tornadoes that raked the state. Rokita said he was particularly “proud that the people of Indiana turned to help each other instead of turning to wait for help from FEMA”
